Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · Varsity Volleyball Beats MLK 3-1

The Lawyers varsity volleyball squad improved to 6-1 on the season with 3-1 victory over a tough MLK team. Marshall won the first set 25-23, then dropped the second set by that same score. However, they pulled out the final two sets to secure the home win.

MLK featured a tall and powerful hitter in their # 2, and a consistent serving game from their #1. The Lawyers went back and forth in each game, winning a few points, losing a few points, but with the net play by Damonique Bedell and Lynae Howard, and consistent passing, the Lawyers edged out the 4th game 25-21.  Every member of the team contributed to the win, whether it was consistent passing or gaining service points, or hitting, each Lawyer brought heart and determination.

The JV game went to 3 close games with the Lawyers getting a 25-21 win in the last game. Both squads travel to East Tech on Monday for a matchup with the very strong Scarabs. They return home on Wednesday, September 13th to face John Hay.
